Periradicular therapies (PRT)
Periradicular therapy describes the interventional block of the anterior (frontal) branch of a spinal nerve.
The injection cannula (blue arrow on the cervical spine illustration) is placed outside the neuroforamina without penetrating the epidural, subdural or subarachnoid space.
Additionally it must be clarified whether the blocking effect is specific to the blocked spinal segment or the blocked root.
